The Management Board of Industrial Zones (IZs) of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has just proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to add 6 more industrial zones with a total area of more than 4,796 hectares (ha) in the master planning. Most of the industrial parks are located in Xuyen Moc, Chau Duc, Tan Thanh, Dat Do districts, and Phu My town. The list includes:
2 industrial parks with a total area of 1000+ ha:
- Xuyen Moc Industrial - Urban - Service Industrial Park (Xuyen Moc district) (1,143 ha);
- Dat Do II Industrial Park (expansion of Dat Do I Industrial Park - Dat Do district), (1,000 ha);
4 industrial parks with a total area of 500 - 800 ha:
- Phuoc Hoa Industrial Park (Phu My town) (800 ha);
- Da Bac Industrial Park (Chau Duc district) phase 2 - 3 (500 ha);
- Expanded Phu My 3 Industrial Park (Tan Thanh district) (650 ha);
- Cu Be Industrial Park (Chau Duc district) (500 ha).
Xuyen Moc Industrial - Urban - Service Industrial Park is the largest IZ invested by Saigon Telecommunication Technology Joint Stock Company. Up to now, the selection of the IZ's location (Hoa Hoi, Hoa Hiep, and Binh Chau communes (Xuyen Moc district), as well as the project scale, have been determined.
Regarding the expansion and establishment of new industrial zones, local authorities and the IZ’s developers should monitor issues such as environmental protection, investment efficiency, and industry specialization of each IZ to create unique advantages.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau currently 16 industrial zones/parks which have been approved by the Prime Minister:
2 out of 16 industrial zones that have not had the detailed planning of 1/2000:
＋Long Son Petroleum Industrial Park;
＋HD Urban - Service Industrial Park, Phu My town
Thanks to the newly promoted expressway system connecting Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port and surrounding port clusters, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is becoming an industrial hotspot, making it the Southern economic corridor providing a convenient transportation network between land and sea.
